HOLA FAM

Lee Family,
How is everyone doing? Well, I will have a little more time to write today since there was only Dad's letter waiting for me. So, how did the Oregon Coast treat you guys? I can't believe a year has past since I graduated. That was one of the fastest years ever. The time is flying by so fast. This past week has been kind of weird seeing everyone saying goodbye to Elder Khan, and seeing him prepare to go back home. I don't want those days to come too soon for me. My Comp is a little nervous about going back home. He says he wouldn't mind another month in the mission with me in this area. These last couple of days he has been kind of baggie and has been talking about home a lot. Last night we were up late talking. Tuesday night we are going to be eating like crazy. Everybody wants to feed us their best baleadas and food right before Elder Khan leaves, so food-wise we have been doing alright lately. Well, this last week, we were supposed to marry a couple, so we can baptize them. We paid for the wedding and have been preparing their papers for about 2 weeks now, and finally, this past Saturday, the day of their wedding, they didn't show up. That was kind of a bummer. But I think we are going to try to marry them this upcoming weekend. Well, it is really hot here right now, even though the stormy season is starting to come in. It is supposed to be really hot, rain, then hot again, until about November-December. Oh, and no I don't have a new companion yet...not until Wednesday. I wonder who it's going to be. Elder Khan tells me change (transfer) meetings are like being an RM at BYU. He says RMs at BYU just look around at every girl and think, "She could be my wife". That's how it is at a change meeting. Everybody's looking around at everyone and wondering who's gonna be their next companion. They are actually really fun. This change, there are going to be 22 missionaries going home from the mission. So we are going to get a lot of new greenies here in the mission. I love my area right now. There is every type of person here. A part of our area is where the poorest and humblest people of Honduras live. Then we also have the middle class people, and then, we have the richest people in Honduras. Everyone here is great, though you can see a little more pride in the richer people. It is a little harder to contact in that colony. But in the rich colony, we have some of the most faithful and powerful families of the Church. Well, right now we don't have a whole lot of investigators. Please pray for us to have success, and find those that are ready to receive the Gospel. Oh yeah, I just remembered...remember my last area-- Morelos? We had a Zone Conference this past Friday with the traveling AP´s...one of them had been my Zone Leader there in Morelos, named Elder Kunzler. On the bus, the day before we arrived in Morelos, Elder Kunzler was telling me how the members were so excited to have us in that area, and that there were tons of`people who wanted to hear the Gospel...he kept going on and on...telling me how great the area was. So I was thinking, "Wow!...I am going to Heaven!" Then, when I saw my house in Morelos, I thought I WAS in Heaven. Well, as it turns out, this last Zone Conference, the traveling AP, Elder Kunzler was assigned to speak.  He talked about always keeping a positive attitude about everything. He said if you think your area is Hell, it will be Hell. If you know your area is hard, and the members there don't want you, lift up the members and the Church, so it will become like Heaven. Then he told us the story about Morelos. He said the first day he met Elder Lee, he told me how great the area was, so I would have pure and positive thoughts in my mind...which I did! Then he said, the reality was Morelos had struggled more than any other area in our mission...the members of the ward and everything. And that's why they didn't have missionaries there. I guess, awhile back, Morelos was a ward of about 200, then their Bishop (who drinks all the time now) committed adultery with another member in the ward, and the attendance dropped down to 10 people. Right before we got there, the attendance was only about 35. But, in my head, I thought we were going to Heaven, cuz Elder Kunzler didn't tell me anything negative about that area, and I knew nothing about its background, or the failing of its members. Then he went on to say, because my Comp and I kept a positive attitude the whole time, Morelos right now is the most successful area in the Villanueava Zone...and are baptizing all of my investigators that I had. And all the members are coming back to Church and are very excited. I was so happy Friday...I could see even more clearly how the Lord has worked through me. This story gave me inspiration to even work harder, and always have a positive attitude about everything. So, now that we don't have very many investigators, I know the Lord will prepare a way for me, if I am obedient and give Him my all. So please pray for us to keep having success and find more people to teach and baptize. Well, I don't know if I explained that story very well through words on the computer...it sounds way better in real life. Well this past change my Zone baptized more than any other Zone in the mission. We baptized 32 I think. Oh, did I ever tell you guys that Elder Ventura, my second companion in Tela, is my Zone Leader here now. He has been my Zone Leader this whole last change and will be for this next one also, because his companion is also going home. Well, today was our P-day...we went to San Pedro to get our money out for the month. Then six of us Elders went and ate at Wendy's. Then we had to close my companion's bank account...waited in line for about and hour or more. The lines at the banks here are incredible. They are so long and people take forever. Now I have to make this a little short. I cant see how much I have written, but my Comp and I have to get going cuz he needs to pack his suitcases still. So we don't have a lot of time today. And Mom, if you see any of my friends tell them to email me at this address, but that they need to give me their street address, cuz I can only email my family. But you can forward my letter to others. I feel like I have forgotten English...my grammar, spelling, and the way I write is horrible. Sorry. I hope everyone is doing great. Thank you for your prayers, support, and letters. I love you all. Hope you all have a great week.
