HONDURAS ROCKS!

Image
Dear Family, This week was full of all kinds of ups and downs. We had seven that were supposed to get baptized and not one of them got baptized. First of all, we had a sister, Maria de los Angeles, the mom of Juana, who just got baptized, and the mom of the 17-year-old kid Luis, that got baptized a month ago, and her two other kids of 9 and 11 years. Her husband is in the States, but anyways, those 3 were supposed to get baptized, but she wanted to talk to her husband in the States first. She doesn’t have his number, so we have to wait until he calls.  Two other young men, named David and Miguel, were supposed to get baptized, but things didn’t fall right, so they will be baptized this upcoming Saturday. We also had this other man, who is married, named Wilmer. He is a stud. But this last week has been hard for him... pastors have been going to his house telling him all kinds of things about the Church. His whole family was against him getting baptized. During his interview, the...

FAMILY

Dear Family, Well, here I am after a week of sacrifice. This past week our Zone did a week of sacrifice. We cut an hour out of our eating time and used it to work. We also started off the week with a fast, and we had to teach a certain number of lessons, and wake up in the mornings at 5:00 to read the Book of Mormon and pray. We also had to do a 105 mini lessons to find people to teach. We had an amazing week! We had this couple who really didn’t want to get married or baptized, and then they got married and baptized this past week, after a lot of testimonies and prayers. The wedding was awesome...they are so happy now. We only baptized two this past S aturday. Sorry, I wish I could tell you all everything that happened this week, but I only have 15 minutes to type cuz our Zone just got back from a hike we did, and we have to get going. So next week I will send the pictures of the baptisms and of the wedding. Also, I will send a hand-written letter in the mail with my chip.  ...

PARA LA FAM

Dear Fam, This week was a little crazy. We had a baptismal date for a family, but it fell through. The Familia Cruz were going to get baptized this past weekend. The husband wanted to get baptized, but only together with his wife. His wife Luz still has some doubts, and says she doesn’t feel prepared. We are going to work with them a lot this upcoming week. We are also still working with Tautcho and Juana. If everything comes together this week, they will be getting married and baptized at the end of the week. We also had another awesome family, but the husband left for the States and won't be returning for another 10 days. We also have another family that we are working with a lot. I don’t know if I already told you, but their names are Wilmer and Jerry. They really wanted to get baptized, but when we went to their house to get them for church on Sunday, they weren’t there. We are also working with a 21-year-old kid named Carlos Vasques. This kid is so humble and ready to get ba...

HOLA FAM

Dear Family, Wow, this was another great week. Sorry it sounds and feels like I have had great weeks the last couple of weeks. But it's true. Thanks for all the letters. You guys are great. So now you are all leaving for the Oregon Coast, huh?  Do you guys ever take a rest from vacations? Well, this last week was full of fun surprises and great experiences. This last Thursday, we had a Multi-Zone Conference, where 7 zones all met together to have a conference. To start off the conference, they showed every Zone's numbers for the past month. Our Zone baptized 39 the month of July. That is the most a Zone has ever baptized in a very long time. So, after the numbers, the AP got up like he usually does, and named off 3 elders to come up and bear their testimony. He then called up 2 elders to give talks. Usually, they call Zone Leaders to give talks, anyway that’s all I have seen since I have been here for 7 months in Honduras. Well, I was a little nervous when the AP called out...
