HOLA FROM MORELOS

Image
Dear Family, I don’t have much time right now, but I will write a letter later today, because we need to go back to our mansion soon. This week has been a great week. We have found a lot of people to teach, and we have investigators progressing. We had a man that attended church for his second time since we have been here this past Sunday...we were going to give him a baptismal date on Sunday, but when we went to visit him, we found him drunk. It was really sad. I was really bummed out. Then to make things worse, we couldn’t get him to stop following us. So, we had to go lock ourselves in our house for about 10 minutes...waiting for him to leave. We are going to go back and visit him tomorrow though. We have a couple of others that are close to baptism as well. There are some really great people here in this little pueblo. The members here are really great too. They are always willing to help us. Oh, and this past week we started an English class. Yes, I was the teacher cuz my compani...

HOLA FROM MORELOS

Dear Family, How's it going? I am now in a new area. My new companion's name is Elder Valencia from the capital of Guatemala. He is my third straight Comp from the capital of Guatemala. We are opening an area that hasn't been opened. We are in an area called Morelos. It is really small. Its probably not even on the map.   It's about 20 minutes from Villanueava. Our little Branch has about 40 people...10 to 15 adults, about 5 youth, and the rest are a bunch of little kids. I am really excited for this challenge. The Lord obviously opened this area right now because there are chosen people here who are ready to listen to and accept the Gospel. It has been kind of rough the past few days, because my Comp and I don't really know anything about the area, or where any of our members live. The members are really excited to have us here, though. The first day we were here, about every member wanted to wash our clothes. We don't have a cook, so we are experimenting aga...

HOLA FROM HONDURAS

Dear Family, How is everyone doing? Sounds like  this week is going to be a fun week for you all. Dad, before I forget, here is the scripture I want on my plaque. I actually want one and part of another. If you can't do that, then I want a different scripture. The scripture I want is all of D&C 104:82, then below that, I want the part of D.C. 128:22 that says "Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, on to the victory!" If that doesn't work, use Helaman 5:12, or Alma 26:12. You can pick for me. Anyways, I don't have much time...I have a lot of things to do today. I have a change this Wednesday, so I will be going to another area. It kind of feels like I am leaving my family again. Excited to leave, but sad to leave people you love. I really love the people here in Tela. Our cook´s son, who is 24 and speaks English, told me last night that he was really going to miss me, and that I was his best friend. I really love this family. Th...

HOLA

Dear Family, How's it going everybody? Things are going awesome here in Tela. We only have about nine days left before changes. I don't know if I will leave this area or stay in it and get a new companion. I really like this companion. Even though he doesn't speak any English...he's great. I would rather have a companion that speaks only Spanish. I learn a lot faster, cuz whenever I go on a division with a Gringo, we just talk English. My Companion right now too is a really hard worker and funny. Anyways, we have found a lot of families to teach lately. One really great and fun experience I had about a week and a half ago was when a Gringo came to my area on an exchange, named Elder Searle. He was in my District in the MTC. He doesn't know very good Spanish, and since we were in my area, I was the one in charge and had to do all the talking. I prayed really hard before we went out that we would be able to understand the Spanish and find families to teach. Well, wh...
