LIFE IN HONDO

Dearest Family, Well, everyone must be really busy, because the only letter I got was from Mark Lathim. It’s really true that for the first 6 months being in the mission, all the family, best friends, and even casual friends write you. After 1 year, you may still be getting letters from some of your good friends and your parents. At about 1 year and a half, the letters are just from your parents. And at about 2 years everyone just forgets about you...but you may still receive random letters from people who have never written the whole mission! This week it was Mark Lathim who wrote me. So it was good to hear how he was doing. Anyways, the weeks are flying by. This past Saturday we had another baptism. We baptized a lady named Patty. I had her with a baptismal date my first change here (3 1/2 months ago). But she had a boyfriend then who had his own family. In other words she was helping him commit adultery. We tried to help her but she wasn’t progressing. So we stopped visiting her. ...

PARA LA FAMILIA

Dear Family, How is everyone doing? Everyone must be really busy because today I didn’t really receive much letters. Time goes by way fast at home. Sounds like everything changes so much in one week…People in different places, doing different things every other week. Well Dad, just to let you know, I have no clue what I want to do when you guys come down. So that makes two of us who don’t know what we are going to do. And as for hotels and car rentals, you’re going to have to do some internet searching. You should have called the mission office about three weeks ago, because now they have white washed the office…there are two new office secretaries that don’t know anything. They are pretty much lost in there. If you call they might be able to help you. Do you have their number?.. if not, ask me for it, and I will send it next week.   In San Pedro, there are a ton of hotels, but most are in really dangerous areas. So I don’t know if you would like to stay in a nice place and be saf...

TO THE FAM

Image
Dearest Fam, Well, today we don't have much time so this might be a little short. Dad,  HAPPY BIRTHDAY ! I hope you enjoyed it. How do you feel being 1 year older? Do you got a lot of grey hairs yet? I hope you are enjoying your new car. The Cadillac can be mine when I get home, I hope. Thanks :). Well, this past week was a little crazy, but great. We had all kinds of meetings. On Tuesday, we had our normal District Meetings, and afterwards, we did a division with the APs....they are part of our Zone here in San Pedro. On Wednesday, we had our Zone Leaders' Conference with President Cruz. It went really great. Those are always my favorite meetings. About half of the Zone that I had in Colon are now Zone Leaders. So, it is always good to get together to talk about the good old Colon days. On Friday, we had our Zone Leadership Meeting (with all you can eat baleadas in the morning). Saturday, we had an awesome meeting with Elder Steven Snow who is in the Presidency of the First ...

GREAT WEEK!

Dearest F amily, Well, another awesome week has just flown by again. This past week was changes and we received a couple of new elders here in the Zone. I am really excited for the New Zone. Two elders from our last Zone ended the mission and were really baggy, and we had two sisters in the Zone that were having a lot of problems. They really didn't work at all last change. Every other minute they were calling our house, and one would say that the other one is talking to herself and a whole bunch of stuff. They would call us at 1:00 in the morning wanting to talk to President, and a whole bunch of other problems. They took out one of them and gave us a big farmer woman from Wyoming who likes to work. So we are really excited here in the Zone to start off new. My Companion and I here in the area are continuing to see great results. This upcoming weekend we will have two more baptisms. Sister Sonia (33) and her daughter, Julissa that is 15. This past week, we found 13 more new inves...
