WEDDINGS, BAPTISMS, AND A BAD NOSE

Dearest Family, I am going to make this short because we have to go and eat. I just got back from San Pedro Sula. My companion and I went in there at about 6:30. I went to the Doctor because I am having some problems with my nose. One side of of my nose has swelled up and it hurts really, really bad. It's not really noticeable, but it is something I have never had or felt before. It makes my head hurt also. It's hard to think, and when people talk, it feels like they are screaming. It's been like this for about 3 or 4 days. I tried to be a man and tough it out with some ibuprofen pills. The mission doctor told me to take ibuprofen pills of 800 MG about 3 days ago. But they didn't do anything. So today the doctor told me he thinks it's something that was in the water that got up my nose. He wrote me a prescription to get some antibiotics. He also gave me some cream to stick up my nose with a q-tip. Don't worry though, I am still alive, walking, teaching, and br...

SANTA CRUZ LIFE

Image
Dearest Family Back Home, I wish I could tell you all everything that happens throughout the week, because it seems like when I come into the computer lab, my brain goes out. This past week was amazing. We have found all kinds of great investigators, and we were able to bring a lot of them to church. This upcoming Friday, we are going to marry 2 really special couples, and we will be baptizing the wives of each of the families...their husbands are members. They have just been inactive for years. They are really excited though for this new little change in their lives. Their names are Suyapa y Teodoro, and Martha and Hugo. We will also be having 3 more baptisms. We will be baptizing a 27-year-old lady named Arasely and her son Jeffrey. She was the very first person my companion and I contacted when I got here to Santa Cruz. My first day when I got to Colon, the very first man I contacted there also got baptized. He is now a Melchizedek Priesthood holder and has baptized his 2 nephews....

LOVING HONDURAS

Dearest Family, This week has been full of all kinds of work. Sorry about last week. I had a change, so that's why I didn't write. I am now in Santa Cruz de Joja. Its about 2 hours from San Pedro. My new companion is Elder Lopez from Guatemala. He goes home next change. Where I am at is a Branch, but it has an attendance of a little over 100 people. If we can get the attendance a little higher, they are going to convert it into a Ward! They already have the necessary tithe payers and priesthood holders. It is a great Branch. There are about six return missionaries. For a unit here in Honduras, that is a lot. I am ready for the new little task the Lord has given me. Right now the work is going great here. We are doing divisions with the members about 3 times per week and teaching a lot of lessons with members. We have two weddings and baptisms coming up for the 28th of this month. I love the members and the people here. But at the same time, I miss Colon and everything the Lord...

LOVIN' HONDURAS

Dear Family, Well, this past week has been a tiring one. On Tuesday night (Wednesday, 2:00 AM),  we went to a change meeting in San Pedro, and didn't get back until Wednesday night. My companion Elder Reyes left the area. We had nine changes in the whole zone. They took the Sisters out of our Zone, so now we have two less missionaries. My new companion is one of the best things that has happened in my mission. My new companion is Elder Bair from Idaho. He has been one of my best friends here in the mission. He came to Honduras one change after I did. He is a big kid. He loves sports, especially football, and has a great desire to work hard for the Lord. These last days have been awesome. On Thursday, we had a really big planning session.  We set all kinds of great goals that are going to help us strive to be better every day. We have set a baptismal goal of 20 this month. We are waking up every day at 5:30 to read the Book of Mormon. We have a goal to read the Book...
