AMAZING TIMES IN HONDO

Dear Family, This week was by far one of the best weeks I have ever had on the mission. The Lord really blessed us. This week, my companion and I woke up extra early to pray together and read scriptures. We did a couple of fasts, and the weather was hotter than ever, and I almost died, but to see a family, and two individuals, walk into the waters of baptism at the end of the week, filled my heart with joy, like never before. All the way up until Friday, the Mom of the Family Martinez didn’t want to get baptized. We visited them every day this past week, and she kept saying she didn’t want to get baptized with her husband and son on Saturday. But I just kept having faith, and never doubted, and the Lord prepared the way. This past week, I think I have prayed for that family like I have never prayed on my mission. And let me tell you, to see them all in white Saturday was one of the greatest things I have seen or felt in my life. I can’t even explain what I felt in writing. They have ...

HOWDIE!

Dearest Fam, Well, it started out to be a great week when I received a package from Kris in Spain. He sent me some nice little goodies with a beautiful tie and a tape. This week was kind of crazy. I was in like four different areas on divisions. I really had some great experiences in these other areas. The Spirit worked through me to get 2 people baptized that weren't planning on getting baptized this past week, in other missionaries' areas. One of them was a 16 year-old-girl who is named Michelle. She lives with members and goes to Church. I talked to her and interviewed her (without her knowing I was asking the interview questions). She passed all the questions and didn't have any problems, but still didn't want to get baptized.  I talked to her for another 15 minutes, and she finally said she wanted to get baptized. I then asked her who she wanted to perform the baptism. She said, "I want you to baptize me". I told her I couldn't do it, because I had...

BAPTISMS!!!!

Dear Fam, Just want to let you all know I am alive, and I don't have much time to write. We had a great week this last week. We married two couples and had two baptisms. This upcoming week, we could baptize 5 more, if some marriage papers come. We have also found some other great people this last week. Saturday, we found a 30-year-old man who lives by himself and has a couple of kids. He came to our baptism on Saturday night and was in Church before everyone Sunday morning. After Church, he asked us if there were any extra Ensigns that he could have. He also wanted a Book of Mormon, and the book, "Teachings of the Prophet Wilford Woodruff. He is awesome. We found him in the park on Thursday, gave him one of the new pamphlets that we have, and when we arrived at his house Saturday, he told us he had been waiting 3 hours for us to arrive. He had "eaten the pamphlet alive". He had everything marked with a million questions and a hundred comments. He is what ...
