HOLA

Dear Family,
The weeks are flying by. It seems like we have P-day too often...feels like P-day is every other day. Well, this past week we kind of had an up, down, and up week. At the beginning of the week, things were going great. We were teaching a family of eleven, and a lady that has 50 years and her son that is 20...and another family of five, and some other individuals. On Thursday, when we visited these families, everything fell through. Before Thursday, they were all doing great and were progressing, and had attended church. The family of eleven didn't want us to teach them anymore, and the lady and her son didn't want us to come back, and the other family of five won't even answer their door. I was really bummed out Thursday night. We lost a lot of investigators, and I didn't know what do. On the way home, my companion told me that we need to pray really hard and ask for help. So, when we got home Thursday night, when my companion was in the shower, I prayed really hard and asked for help... for the Lord to help us find people that are ready to hear the Gospel. After my prayer, for some reason, I felt really good. That night, we planned out the next day. We put down that our goal was to find five new investigators on Friday. On Friday morning, we woke up and went to a meeting in Progresso. After the meeting, the Zone Leader came over and gave us two references. When we got back to Tela, we found these two houses...one was a family of three and they were married also (that is rare). They told us that they were from Guatemala, and that they had talked with missionaries before, and that they had attended the Church a couple of times in Guatemala. Right before we taught them the first lesson, the wife's sister walked in...she was about 25 I think. So, she stayed in and listened too. After we were done teaching, they said they wanted to prepare to be baptized. After that visit, we were walking by this chicken place, and I saw a man sitting outside of it. I felt like we needed to talk to him, so we went and talked to him. We found out that he has close member friends and has attended church events in the past. We taught him, and he seemed really excited about our message. So, just in the little time we had Friday after the meeting, the Lord blessed us with exactly five new investigators. Saturday and Sunday, we found two more families to teach, and another man. We truly did have our prayers answered. Lately, we have been working a lot with the members getting references. This has been really great. I have realized, Missionary Work has a lot more success when the members get involved. Anyhow, this past week, I have never seen so much rain in my life. On Tuesday, it rained every minute of the day we were awake, and on Wednesday, it rained all day with some five minute breaks here and there. My shoes and bottoms of my pants got trashed. It was fun though. Oh, and this week, I lost my wallet on the bus. Good thing though, last week I took all of my important cards out of it, and there was just money in it. So, all is well with that. Did I tell you guys that we have a cook now? We eat beans and rice, and maybe tortillas, everyday. I actually seem to like them a lot. Before the mission, I really didn't like beans, but now I love them. Well, the Spanish is going alright. Keep praying for me, I need it. My companion always tells me my Spanish isn't too bad. But I don't know, I wish I could talk better. I have learned to just relax a little though with the language, and when I do, I find that it's easier to talk. Well tomorrow, we have a Multi-Zone Conference in San Pedro, so I am really excited for that. That should be fun. Oh, and I forgot to tell you in my last letter...the day before the change meeting in San Pedro two weeks ago, I went to go get my hair cut and this guy that cut my hair cut the bottom half of my hair really short and kept everything on top. I looked at it and told him to take a little more off the top. So, he took his clippers and took a little more off the top. But, when i looked in the mirror, he had taken everything off the top. He buzzed me, leaving some bangs in the front of my hair. My Companion was laughing...I wanted to cry. Oh, I looked ugly. I then went back to our house and cut the bangs off myself, cuz i didn't want to ask him to do it. I knew if I did, he would have shaved me bald. So, I have decided I am not gonna take any pictures for about three weeks, until my hair grows back. Good thing my hair grows fast. Well I gotta run...I have no more time. Thank you so much for your letters. Thank you Chris for your letter...it was great. I really liked it. Thank you everyone for all you do. You're the best family ever. Have a great week.
Love, Elder Lee
