HOLA FROM HONDURAS

Dear Family,
How is everyone doing? Sounds like  this week is going to be a fun week for you all. Dad, before I forget, here is the scripture I want on my plaque. I actually want one and part of another. If you can't do that, then I want a different scripture. The scripture I want is all of D&C 104:82, then below that, I want the part of D.C. 128:22 that says "Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, on to the victory!" If that doesn't work, use Helaman 5:12, or Alma 26:12. You can pick for me. Anyways, I don't have much time...I have a lot of things to do today. I have a change this Wednesday, so I will be going to another area. It kind of feels like I am leaving my family again. Excited to leave, but sad to leave people you love. I really love the people here in Tela. Our cook´s son, who is 24 and speaks English, told me last night that he was really going to miss me, and that I was his best friend. I really love this family. They are so awesome. They have done so much to help me and my companion. Well, this past Saturday, we had a baptismal date for a man name Oscar Matamores. He had his interview with the Zone Leader on Friday. But, Saturday morning, he said he didn't want to do it right now. We talked to him for about a half hour... I guess he will be baptized this upcoming Saturday, but I won't be here this Saturday...sad. Well besides him, we don't really have anyone with a set date, but we do have 3 or 4 families progressing, and some individuals too. So hopefully, this area will have a whole lot of baptisms here in a little bit. This past week was really fun. I went on two divisions. I went to the area of Elder Gonzales. He's a Gringo from the Seattle area. He's our Zone Leader. He is a really awesome missionary and funny too. Well, when I was in his area, we went to this one family's house to eat...they were some of his investigators. Elder Gonzales told me they like everything about the Gospel, but don't want to get married, and that is the only thing that has been holding them back from getting baptized. Well, we ate baleadas, and then we were just talking to them, and Elder Gonzales looked at me, and said in English, "Tell them to get married".  I was like, "Are you serious?...we're not even talking about that." I was like, "You do it". Then he was like, "I have done it like a million times, and they don't want to". So, I was like, "Alright". So, I changed the subject and just started talking about marriage and the blessings we can receive by getting married. It was really amazing!...I talked for like fifteen minutes. Then when I got done, I looked at my Comp, and he just said, "Sweet". We ended with a prayer. The next time I saw Elder Gonzales, in a meeting  Friday, he told me that this same couple is planning to get married now...and are going to be baptized. So, that was pretty awesome. On Friday, Elder Gonzales came to my area. It was really fun. Well, I only have five minutes left here...so I better wrap it up. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNA AND MELISSA! Dear Dad, How are you? This email is just to answer some of your questions. So Chris is going to be down here on Monday. I don’t think anybody I know here in my area would be able to get him from the airport. Nobody has a car and the ones that do have a car are working during the daytime. So I don’t know what he can do. And as for working with me on Monday and Tuesday, that would be awesome. Only Monday we don’t go out and work until 6:00. So maybe he would want to meet up with us Tuesday. I am going to see if it is okay with President. But where is he going to sleep? He won’t be able to sleep in our house. Is he going to rent a car?   What are his plans? We have interviews with President on Wednesday… I will talk to prez. Yes Brother Butts is back in Honduras now. You can call him. Lee Family, How is everyone doing? Well, I will have a little more time to write today since there was only Dad's letter waiting for me. So, how did the Oregon Coast treat you guys? I can't believe a year has past since I graduated. That was one of the fastest years ever. The time is flying by so fast. This past week has been kind of weird seeing everyone saying goodbye to Elder Khan, and seeing him prepare to go back home. I don't want those days to come too soon for me. My Comp is a little nervous about going back home. He says he wouldn't mind another month in the mission with me in this area. These last couple of days he has been kind of baggie and has been talking about home a lot. Last night we were up late talking. Tuesday night we are going to be eating like crazy. Everybody wants to feed us their best baleadas and food right before Elder Khan leaves, so food-wise we have been doing alright lately. PHOTOS; NEW AREA; NEW COMP

  1.   My new Comp with a nice little sunset 2.  This is my area. To the left (you can't see the house) is the Familia Martinez.  They are the ones who have been attending Church for three months.  They finally decided this week to get married. 3.  Here I am in my new area. We are dumping out Gieovanni´s coffee.   He his going to get married and baptized this upcoming weekend. 4.  My new Comp and Me today on some little bridge nearby our area.  5.  This is the couple we married Friday.  She speaks a little English. She is part black.  There are a lot of black people here. They are Garifunas. I don't know what it is, but a ton of little black kids here have hair that is sun bleached. It's very interesting.  I am thin ki ng my hair will get really white here. 6.  The Zona Celestial. We baptized 59 the month of August...Mission record!  Here we are eating a little Chinese food with President. ...
