HOLA FROM MORELOS
Dear Family,
I don’t have much time right now,
but I will write a letter later today, because we need to go back to our
mansion soon. This week has been a great week. We have found a lot of people to
teach, and we have investigators progressing. We had a man that attended church
for his second time since we have been here this past Sunday...we were going to
give him a baptismal date on Sunday, but when we went to visit him, we found
him drunk. It was really sad. I was really bummed out. Then to make things
worse, we couldn’t get him to stop following us. So, we had to go lock
ourselves in our house for about 10 minutes...waiting for him to leave. We are
going to go back and visit him tomorrow though. We have a couple of others that
are close to baptism as well. There are some really great people here in this
little pueblo. The members here are really great too. They are always willing
to help us. Oh, and this past week we started an English class. Yes, I was the
teacher cuz my companion doesn’t speak English. Everyone loved it. We had a
turnout of about fifteen. We would have had a lot more, but it was pouring rain
that whole day. We had a man attend our class who is now one of our
investigators. The English Class was really fun. We are having them every
Saturday from 4 to 5. Just for an hour. This week our whole zone
traveled about an hour to a little town that doesn’t have missionaries, and
where the members are struggling. Each set of missionaries went
around and visited about 4 or 5 families and sang hymns to them. It was really
fun, and the people loved it. Oh, and I got your package on about
the 15th of March. So, it didn’t take that long to get here. And I am pretty
sure nobody got into it because I could hardly get into it. Thank you for the
treats and the stamps. I guess because I haven’t had gummy worms for such
a long time, those were the best sour worms I have ever had. The Reese's tasted
better than ever also. Thank you so much. Oh, and about 2 weeks ago, I took out
600 limps from my account. That’s about 30 dollars. I needed about 25 dollars
to pay for 2 pair of pants I bought here...hand-tailored and everything. They
are the best pants I have ever owned. The fabric is so awesome too. I wish I
would have bought all of my pants here. Twelve bucks isn’t bad for a pair of
pants exactly how you want them. Oh Mom, could you do me a favor? If you want,
this can be my birthday present or something, cuz I don’t know how much they
cost..could you buy four rechargeable 2A batteries and send them?...cuz just
the regular double A’s I run out of way too fast using my camera. I have
already used 50. Four rechargeable batteries should last the rest of my whole
mission. If you could do that , that would save me a lot of money. And Mom, could
you look at my bank statement to see how much I was charged to take the money
out of the bank?...cuz an Elder told me it cost him 5 extra dollars just to
take money out with his card. Oh, and another question...how long am I supposed
to wear my contacts? Is it 3 months or 6 months? I forgot. Haha. And also, can
you get me Kris Knight's address, and Taylor Jenks' too? Well I have to get
running. Thank you for you prayers and your letters. Thank you for all you do.
You’re the best family ever. Keep up the good work and have a great
week. Adios... Con Amor, Elder Lee
Here are some pictures: 1. We had a Family Night this past Monday with this man. He turned 82. We had Honduran food and ate cake. 2. This is in the area that doesn't have missionaries. These kids were so excited for the picture. Everybody loves to have their picture taken. 3. The kids of one of the families in that same area. 4. These are just a bunch of kids on the street that wanted a picture. I always have kids chase me down and ask to have a picture taken with me.Oh, and this little kid on the left that looks like a Gringo...everybody calls him my son. He is Honduran...his dad has a little bit of white in him, but none of them know English. 5. This is my first English class. These are my students. After this class, the man on the left, in the green shirt, is now one of our investigators. 6. This is a little kid of one of our investigators. 7. This is a short little fat kid that loves me. He is a member. 8.These are free shirts we got that they were handing out cuz this guy on the shirt lost the election. Can't pass up a free shirt! 9. This crazy man lives below us. No one can understand him very well. My Comp only catches about 50% of what he says, and I catch maybe 5%. He was talking about this picture to my companion for the next couple of days after. He was so excited. Haha!
