HOLA
Dear Fam,
How is everybody doing?
Thanks again for your wonderful letters. I enjoyed every one of them...even the
forwards telling me David and Kira's new phone number. Well, this past week has
been pretty sweet. We found this new family about a week and a half ago...I
can't remember if I told you, but they are awesome. We are going to marry them
this week and baptize them on Saturday. So, this upcoming week should be
another fun one. Also, last week we fasted to find another great family. And in
my personal prayers, I was also praying that we could find someone to cook for
us. Well, about a day and a half ago, I talked to this man on the bus, and
pretty much taught him the first lesson. He then asked me if we could come to
his house to teach his family. Usually, the people on the bus that we talk to
don’t live in our area, so those contacts often become references for other
missionaries. But, this time, when I got his address, surprisingly he lived in
our area. I really didn’t know exactly where, but it is in our area. This past
Monday, we found his house, and taught their family the first lesson. Then,
they fed us dinner. Then out of nowhere, he offered to
be our cook! They have their own little business right below their house and
sell food. So now, we are teaching their family, and have a really good cook.
Oh, and also, if there was a Carlos Gonzalez (wrestling coach Carlos)
look-alike contest, he would win by far. He looks exactly like him. This man is
really awesome. I am thinking potential Bishop. We don’t have a Bishop in our
ward. But first, we have to get them to Church and marry them. Oh, they did go
yesterday to an Easter Devotional at the Church, where two branches and our
ward all met in our building, and the Primary kids sang songs. We watched a
movie of Jesus Christ, and there were talks...to top it all off our ward acted
out the Resurrection, in which I played the role of Jesus Christ. I was kind of
disappointed...even though I took my camera, I discovered I had no batteries in
it. It was really fun though. The people loved it. So, yesterday was a really
fun day. Here they have what's called Semana Santa. Which means Holy Week.
Nobody works during Holy Week, or goes to school. They just go to the beach all
day. And, on Friday night all of the Catholics walk around with a cross and a
fake Jesus on their shoulders. Others have glass caskets with Jesus inside. It
is kind of bizarre. But anyways, the Easter Bunny still hasn’t found me yet
down here in Honduras. Hopefully, he´s just running a little late this year.
Well, today I spent all day in San Pedro Sula with my Comp. He needed new
glasses, and then wanted to get his teeth cleaned at the dentist. I don’t think
I would ever want my teeth cleaned there. So, it is running really late right
now. I am sending some pictures. But I have to run. Thank you so much for
everything. Hope all is well. Love, Elder Lee P.S. Here are some pictures: 1.This is my LEE that takes people to San Pedro. I have my new shoes on, and my new pants, that I only wear for meetings.
