HOLA FAM
Dear Family,
Sounds like everyone is
doing great. Thanks for your letters this week. I am sending like all my
pictures that are on this new disc, but I am sending them through Microsoft
word to see if you guys get them. That will be nice if you tell me in your next
letter. I hope you get them, there are some good ones. Especially of the Hondo
toilets. If you get that one, don’t they just look pleasing. Haha. I'ts so
great here. Well, this past Saturday, we baptized a 46-year-old man, named Jose
Santos. This man is really awesome. He is so humble. He loved his baptism. He
told us never in his life has he felt happier. He was so happy when he arrived
and there was a whole bunch of members there for his baptism. The next day,
which was Sunday, we taught a Gospel Principles class for new members and
investigators. When we were going around the room sharing the best experience
of our life, and when it was Jose’s turn, he just went on and on about his
baptism...tears came to my eyes. I was so happy for him. It was really great.
Just from a picture, you could never know it all. Sorry. Well this past
Saturday to Sunday we fasted, and I about died. It was probably the hottest 2
days since I have been in Honduras. It felt like wrestling practice my Jr year
when I was cutting weight. I was just dripping sweat, and I knew I couldn’t
eat, because I was making a sacrifice unto the Lord. In wrestling
practice when I would be dripping sweat, and I knew I couldn’t get a lit'l drink
of water, and my body just wanted to quit, my mind would tell me to keep going.
So that’s what I felt like….Dying…but I kept giving it my all. So yeah, about
on Sunday in Church, I was feeling really drained, but I made it back to the
house to break my fast. Anyways, because of my fast, we had direct blessings
right after the fast. We found a family this week, and they are not married,
but we taught them the first lesson. They prayed, and felt really good, and
want us to come back often, and they said they would do whatever was needed to
get married, and then get baptized. So, this week we tried getting all of the
paperwork and everything for them. They have no money at all, so the members
are going to pay for it. The only problem, is the husband needs a shot.
It's expensive, and they don’t have money for it. The other problem is
that it takes a month to get the results back. So, we were going to have to
wait a month to marry them. So that means they couldn’t get baptized for a
month. Well, so one of the reasons we fasted, was for something else to work
out so we could get the results sooner, so they could get married quicker. So,
after we broke our fast, we went to a meeting with our Ward Mission Leader.
When we were talking with him about this problem, he said he knew a place where
he could go and get the shot, and then get results the next day. He said
he was going to pay for it all. This man is awesome. He doesn’t even have that
much money but obviously he would rather help build the kingdom of god. Anyways,
this week we have has had a lot of financial success. I think we are going to
have a lot of baptisms in the near future. Oh yeah, last week these
missionaries that live about an hour from us...a gang jumped them, and put
pistols to their heads, and made them walk out into this field, then they took
all their cameras, watches, some books, and a VCR that they were carrying that
belonged to the church. Then they told them to start running. So, they just
started running, and ran back to their house. That’s kind of scary though,
don’t you think? Oh, and today, I am in Villanueva right now, about 30 minutes
from our house...on the way here, this group of cops pulled our bus over, then
took everybody out, and put all of the men up against the bus and body searched
us. Then they checked all of our bags, and since I was the only gringo there,
they wanted to see my passport, but I only had that copy that I carry with me.
Well, then after that, we loaded back onto the bus and left. I had no clue what
was going on. Till this moment, I don’t know what happened. Anyways, my time is
running short. I hope you all get my pictures. Mom, I am going to send my chip
home I think. But I sure hope it doesn’t get stolen in the mail. If it does I
will not come home tell I have those pictures back. But anyways. Thank you all
for you letters. Have a great week. Keep choosing the right. Love, Elder Lee
