A NIGHT TO REMEMBER!

Dear Family,
How is everyone doing? I would send you a picture of my new companion, but I lost my cord. I am not sure if I left it in Elder Khans bag, or where I put it.  My new companion's name is Elder Mejia from Guatemala. I miss Elder Khan. We had a great time together. My new Comp is a great kid and missionary though. He has three  months in the mission. I am now the Senior Companion. From the time he came on Wednesday, to this past Sunday, we taught 33 lessons and have 17 new investigators. I have never taught that many in five days before now. We found a whole bunch of people to teach. We married a couple this past Saturday, and are going to baptize him this coming Saturday cuz his wife is already a member. It was a blessing from God that we were able to marry them. We went to their house Wednesday after the change meeting to talk with them about their wedding. He wasn’t very excited about it, and was doubting. We told them to talk about it, and we would come back on Friday. My Comp and I that night both prayed about it, and felt really good that they would be married on Saturday. I called Thursday night to talk with our District Leader, and he told me to call the Zone Leaders...that they needed to talk to me. So, I called the Zone Leaders and they told me that we had to marry them Friday at 6:00 PM. I told them that wasn’t possible. And Elder Conelison told me, "Elder Lee anything is possible with the Lord". I didn’t know what we were going to say to this couple. We have had problems with them for some time now, and I didn’t know how to tell them Friday morning that they needed to get married that night. So, me and my Companion woke up Friday morning and took a bus out to Calan. We stopped by to talk to Franklin (the man of that couple), and told him we were going to do the wedding that night at 6:00. We just straight told him. He said he would talk to us later. We told him there is no later. So, we then went up the hill and helped this man named Luis (who is an inactive member) build a house (to us Americans it would be called a fort). So we worked on that till 12:00 in the afternoon till Franklin got home from work for lunch...he lives right next to the fort we were throwing up.  We talked to Franklin and Yami and they weren’t sure they wanted to do it. Franklin brought up how he had to work that night, etc.. We talked to them a little longer and they still weren’t sure. Elder Khan would know what I am talking about. Well my Comp looked at me and said “que hacemos” (What do we do?), and I told him let's pray. So all four of us went into their little tiny tiny house and knelt down on their dirt floor and said a prayer. My Companion gave a really awesome, powerful prayer. After the prayer, we sat up, Franklin smiled at us, and said he wanted to get married that night at 6:00. We were so happy. But that wasn’t the end of it. We all went to the Church building and ended up getting there at 6:30. The lady that was going to marry them, and another couple that some Sisters had taught, didn’t show up till 8:00. So, we finally started the wedding, when the lady discovered she forgot Franklin and Yami´s papers in San Pedro. So, after she married one couple, an hour later, we all jumped in the back of our District Leader's pickup with a little camper hood thingy (it was like Justin Dixon's pickup) and headed to San Pedro! Luckily the District Leader was at the wedding. We had our two witnesses (a couple from the ward), Franklin, Yami, her baby, their other little boy, the lady who was to marry them, my Comp and I...all in that little pickup, and we went to San Pedro to marry them at 9:00 PM. To make a long story short, we married them, and made it home at about 11:15. So, it was a long rainy day. But, it was really awesome to see the smiles on their faces after they got married, and to see the Lord help us make it happen. Franklin went to Church this past Sunday, and we are going to baptize him this next Saturday. Well, I would tell you some other stories that have happened this week, but I am running out of time. I am still alive and eating baleadas. It's weird though that we don’t eat many baleadas anymore cuz my new Companion doesn’t like them. How could anyone not like a baleadas? Well thank you all for your letters. It was great hearing from a lot you this week. Mom, that is awesome that you are getting better. I am still praying for you, and for everyone else every night. I love you all and hope you all have a great week. If I find time in the next year I will hand-write a letter. Just kidding...I will try my best to find time soon. Hope you all have a great week. Love, Elder Lee
P.S. Here is a picture of when we went to marry Franklin in San Pedro at 9 o’clock at night. We all piled in the back of this little pickup. That was a night to remember!
