AN AWESOME WEEK!
Dear Family,
I feel great and am
having more fun each and every day. This past week was awesome and full of all
kinds of great experiences, another wedding, and a baptism. We married and
baptized a sister named, Maria Argentina Bautista. She is now married to a man
that is a member, named Jesus Castillano. He has been inactive for a while, but
we got him back to Church with the help of the Lord. He is a lot more excited
about the Gospel now than ever before. Just in these past couple of weeks, I
have seen a change in him. I was kind of sad this past Saturday, because I
missed the wedding and the baptism. Saturday, we had divisions, and I was
planning on baptizing her Sunday morning. But as things worked out, my
companion took them and had them married at the Stake Center in San Antonio,
and after the wedding, they had her baptism. So now, I don’t have any pictures,
and nobody took a picture. But I do have a picture of the couple at
Church on Sunday before her confirmation. I heard it was a really nice
wedding and baptism, so I am happy. Well, I have some more great news. This
upcoming week we are going to marry another couple and baptize the whole
family. They are a family of five. Their names are Maria de los Angeles and
Carlos Enamorado. We have been working with them for about 3 weeks. Last night
we had a powerful lesson with them. We watched a movie called "Returning
Home". It’s a story about a family with life's problems, then two
Sister Missionaries start teaching them, and their lives start to change, and they
finally get baptized. After the lesson, we bore testimonies and the
Spirit was so strong. I bore testimony about you guys, and how much I love my
family, and how the family can be eternal, and the blessings of a family. I
almost cried, but I held the tears back. Wow!...it was awesome. After the
lesson, they decided to give us their identification numbers, so we can get the
birth certificates and marry them this weekend. So, I am really excited and
hope things go through. So, that is what is happening with the Familia
Enamorado. The following week, we have another wedding also. We will be
marrying Tautcho and Juana (sister of Luis, the 17-year-old we baptized last
week) and baptizing them the following Sunday. They left for Las Vegas Mochito,
about three hours from here, and won't be returning till about the 1st of
August. But we have all their papers ready, and their wedding is paid for
So we are praying that everything will work out great. They really are a great
couple. They were a reference we received from Franklin (the ones we married
and baptized about a month ago) and it has been great to have Franklin help us
out with them. Franklin has grown spiritually because of it. The Lord has
really blessed us lately with a lot of chosen people to teach, marry, and
baptize. I have learned this past change, the harder you work, the better you
feel, and the more success you have. This last change with Elder Mejia has been
the hardest I have ever worked in the mission, and the Lord has blessed us
tremendously. It's hard to keep a prayer under ten minutes at night with all
the blessings I have to thank the Lord for. This last change I have also
learned how to depend on the Lord more in everything I do. Before I was trying
to do many things on my own and depend on my own strengths and not enough on
the Lord. These past six weeks, I have learned to give everything I have got to
the Lord, and after that he can make miracles happen through us, “the weak and
the simple”...as the scriptures refer to us. Oh, I don’t know if I told you
all, but I am still in Vista Hermosa, and in the Ward, Villas Del Rio. The
Stake President came to our Ward this past week and made a division of our
Ward. There will now be a Branch, “Dos Caminos”, and a Ward, “Villas de Rio”.
It was exciting. All the members were, and are, really excited. I am
still with Elder Mejia. We didn’t have a change. This is my first companion I
have had for more then one change. So, here we are in our second change. We are
working harder each and every day. My Spanish has gotten so much better during
this past change. We get up every morning at 5:00 and read the scriptures in
Spanish, and after that, in English, together so I can get better with my
Spanish, and my Comp is having me teach him English. So, we are learning
together. It's been pretty fun. I am really grateful I have another change with
Elder Mejia. We get along really well and work really good together. Each day
is full of fun and new experiences. The weeks are flying by like days. It feels
like I have to write home on the internet every other day. Thanks for being the
best family in the world. I love and enjoy every letter I receive. Mom and Dad,
thanks for being my favoritest parents. You are the best examples for me. Thank
you so much for everything you have done for me. I am now realizing that all
your counsel and direction you gave me before the mission was for my good and
benefit. I look back now and realize I made some pretty dumb mistakes before
the mission. Thank you for always having patience with me and being so loving.
You’re the best. Thank you all for your love, letters, support, and prayers. I
can really feel them working in my life and in the lives of others. I love you
all, and hope everything is going great. Have fun on your vacations, but don’t
have too much fun without me. Until next time!
Love, your Son, brother, Uncle, Goonie, and Elder Lee
