HOLA
Dearest Fam,
How is everyone doing?
Sounds like everyone is busy. Well I mean it doesn’t sound, but by the looks of
my mailbox, it looks like everyone is busy. This week
was also a busy week for us. We married another family this week. The Familia
Enamorado. We were going to baptize the family Sunday, but the husband, Carlos,
smoked on Saturday, before his wedding. The other three (the mom and 2 kids)
were ready, and still are ready to get baptized, but didn’t get baptized on
Sunday, because we are going to wait a week to baptize the whole family
together on Saturday. Please pray for Carlos...he could use your prayers. He
committed to stop smoking Saturday after his interview. Sunday, he was having a
hard time in Church cuz he hadn’t smoked since Saturday afternoon. He grew up
in Los Angeles, California and has smoked since he was 11. He really has a
desire to get baptized, and is giving it his all right now. He has changed so
much in these past four weeks...it has been amazing to see. So, please pray for
him to get over this obstacle. We did marry them though on Saturday night. It
was really awesome. Too bad y'all missed it. This was the 4th couple that Elder
Mejia and I have married, and we have at least 2 more couples coming up. The
Lord has blessed us tremendously in these past seven weeks. This past week,
another two golden families fell into our hands from Heaven. And guess
what? In both of the families, the mother and dad are married!! They have
pretty much already committed to baptism. So, we are going to be working and
focusing on them this upcoming week. We also have another couple we are working
with that are already married (Wilmer and Jerry). They have already accepted to
get baptized, but didn’t attend Church this past Sunday. So we were pretty sad
with that. We also have a golden kid that is 20 years old from here in Vista
Hermosa, named Carlos Vasques number 3...We are teaching 3 others named
Carlos...2 of them have the name Carlos Vasquez! He also wants to get
baptized and is fulfilling all of his commitments and is way pilas. He didn’t
go to Church this past Sunday, because he left for Costa Rica for 5 days. So,
this past week was a great one. Well, we don’t have very much time again. So I
will make this a little short, and send some pictures. So, how is everyone's
summer going? Sounds like you guys go on vacations every other week. Oh and
Mom, I don’t know if I can get disinfectant here for my contacts. I will talk
with some people. I am pretty sure someone can get it for me. Oh, and today I
took out 1000 limperas (about $50) So, we went to the bank this morning to take
out the money we receive every month from the mission to eat etc. and I put in
my card. I entered my password, and it was wrong. So, I tried again, and it was
wrong again. I then tried a third time, and it was still wrong. So, I pushed
cancel, and it wouldn’t give me my card back. So, we went inside the bank, and
after an hour, I got my card back. So they then told us that I would have to
wait 15 days to get my password. So, we then went to another Atlantida Bank,
and I put in my card, (cuz I thought I remembered my password), and I
entered my password, and it was wrong again, so I gave up. The machine ate my
card again. So, I then took out 1000 limps with my visa card from the States.
So, we went inside this bank, and after some more time, got my card back, and
they told us the same thing about 15 days. We explained to them that it was an
emergency, and I that needed my money, so they finally gave me a certain amount
of money and made me sign some papers. So that was a fun little run around this
morning. So, I am going to look for my password in the house. Hopefully I can
find it. But anyways, with the 1000 limps, I bought some personal hygiene
stuff: a nice new great looking tooth brush, some tooth paste, deodorant,
shampoo, some soap, etc. and some stuff for my stomach, such as: some wonderful
frosted flakes, strawberry jam with some peanut butter, two boxes of macaroni
and cheese, and then to top it all off, a beautiful tie. So I am now happy and
ready to go for another month. Well, I hope everyone is doing great and having
awesome missionary experiences. Thank you all for your letters and support.
You’re the best. Until next week.
With tons of Love, Elder
Lee
