PARA LA FAM
Dear Fam,
This week
was a little crazy. We had a baptismal date for a family, but it fell through.
The Familia Cruz were going to get baptized this past weekend. The husband
wanted to get baptized, but only together with his wife. His wife Luz still has
some doubts, and says she doesn’t feel prepared. We are going to work with them
a lot this upcoming week. We are also still working with Tautcho and Juana. If
everything comes together this week, they will be getting married and baptized
at the end of the week. We also had another awesome family, but the husband
left for the States and won't be returning for another 10 days. We also have
another family that we are working with a lot. I don’t know if I already told
you, but their names are Wilmer and Jerry. They really wanted to get baptized,
but when we went to their house to get them for church on Sunday, they weren’t
there. We are also working with a 21-year-old kid named Carlos Vasques. This
kid is so humble and ready to get baptized. We just need to get him to Church.
So, that’s the update on the week from Villas Del Rio. We are also really happy
right now with the ward attendance. We are trying to reactivate some families
and this past week the attendance jumped a ton. Last change, when I was with
Elder Khan, and when the Ward and the Branch were meeting together, we had
attendance of about 110-120 in church on Sundays. Now, there is a Branch and a
Ward. In our ward, we had 90 people this last Sunday in Sacrament
meeting. The Branch had 68, so together, we had 158 members in church. In
between classes, the hallways were so packed. We don’t have the normal size
church building like in the States. But anyways, I am so happy for our
attendance. I am excited for my interview this week with President, on the
20th. I love my interviews with him, they are so spiritual and they lift me up
and make me want to be a better missionary every time. Well this past week,
something happened that made me very sad, and I don’t know what to do. So maybe
Dad or Mom can talk to Mr. Gerson and ask him for advice. Well, my chip that is
258 mb for my camera died. Well, it didn’t die, but when I put it in, it says
chip error or something like that. And my pictures don’t show up, and that chip
was full of pictures. So, I don’t know what I can do, but that is going to make
me sad, if I lost all of my pictures that were on that chip. Also about my eye
solution, the office told me to look in my area for a pharmacy that has it.
There are no pharmacies in my area, but I am having my Zone Leader look in his
area. They probably won't have it there either. So, if we can't find it, then
the office will go out and look for it. If they can't find it, my Zone Leader
said his Dad is going to send some. He is an eye doctor dude and can send stuff
for free. So, I am thinking you probably won't have to send any. Oh, and at the
beginning of February 2007, I will need new contacts. Just a little
pre-warning. I can't wear my glasses...they bug me too much. Well, I have to
go. I was making a picture collage on the computer. Happy Birthdays to Dad
and Andrea. Hope you each have had an awesome birthday. Hope you all have
a great week! Love, Elder Lee
P.S. Happy Birthday Dad and Andrea. This was the best I could do.
