PARA LA FAM
Dear Fam,
This last week was very interesting. We had a great week and the Lord blessed us greatly. At the beginning of the week we didn’t have very many investigators progressing. So this last week, we absolutely went crazy looking for people running everywhere and talking to anyone in sight. I don’t think I have been rejected so much in one week in my whole mission. We contacted easily over 100 houses and talked to easily over 100 people. We have been struggling to find new investigators. So around Thursday, we found some pretty good families, and a couple of other good people that we are now teaching. The Lord blessed us with seven of our investigators who came to church on Sunday. We have three families that could get baptized on the 18th or the 25th of this month. Well, we have had great success in the zone this past month...like I said, we were the Zona Celestial again (two months in a row), but it was really scary to see Satan try to destroy our zone this past week. Friday, we were in our leadership meeting, and one of our Zone Leaders and a District Leader started fighting. It got pretty intense. Then the District Leader, E. Bair, stormed out the door, and the other Zone Leader (who wasn't fighting) went after him. I tried calming down the fighting Zone Leader. We all came back together and talked. We talked and got things really good. After some tears, and a lot of talking, we all knelt down and prayed to the Lord to help us humble ourselves, and not let Satan take control of our zone. It was a really ugly feeling, to not feel the Spirit, during the fighting of that meeting . After we talked, and prayed, and felt better, we decided to schedule a Zone Conference for the next day, hoping to bring the zone together and get them excited for this month of November. So, what we did in the Zone Conference is we started off with some hymns, then we all got in a circle and had a story sharing time. We all shared one story that helped us learn something before the mission or on the mission. I didn’t share my story in this time because after everyone got done, we put our chairs back, and to end the conference, I gave a talk of about 25 minutes to get everyone pumped up in the zone to work hard this month. In my talk, I shared my experience before the mission. I shared my good old football/wrestling story. I started off my talk by telling them it all started when I was 4 years old going to wrestling tournaments with my brothers. And how ever since I was little, I always saw my Dad's picture of when he won state and his name on the board. I told them ever since I was little, I had the dream of becoming a state champion like my Dad. To make the story a little short, I told them I lost my freshman year; I won my sophomore year; then again my junior year, and the only year that was left was my senior year to fulfill this life long dream and goal that I had. I told them almost every day I would look at my Dad's name up on the state champions board in the gym, and imagine seeing my name up there. I then shared how before my senior year, I ran like crazy, lifted weights like crazy, and trained like crazy to get ready for the upcoming year of football and wrestling. I then told them how I started off the football season having a great year, leading in receptions, and with a lot of tackles on defense. I then added I was somewhat prideful at the time. Then I shared how the Lord humbled me with my knee. I told them about all the doctors I went to and how everyone of them said I wouldn't be able to play football anymore, and how I wouldn’t be a good wrestler. I told them about the times I knelt in my room, telling my Father in Heaven how much I wanted to come back and play football. I then told them when I made my comeback to play and how Dad gave me a blessing before every game. I then shared how we lost in the semi-finals of the state football tournament. I then told them how down I was, but then how wrestling season started, and I was excited to show all the doctors that they were wrong, and how I was going to fulfill my life long dream. I shared with them how, that wrestling season, I depended on the Lord more than ever. That before every match, I went and said a prayer in a corner or in the locker room, so that the Lord would bless my knee and give me the strength to wrestle. I then got to the good part...the state tournament, and how everything was on the line...I was going to fulfill the life long dream or go home. I shared how I would always see Dad's picture in the house, and his name on the board, and how I wanted the same for my kids to see. Then I ended my talk by saying that the Lord blessed me and helped me fulfill this dream. Then I said I am glad to say my name is on the board with my Dad's, and this is the picture I am going to show to my kids. Then I showed the picture of the state program that I printed out on a page. I then said, "If you all want to live your dreams, achieve the impossible, accomplish your goals in life, and in the mission, you got to depend on the Lord. Then I gave a talk about depending on the Lord. It was pretty awesome. The Lord blessed me with the perfect words. I love capacitating in Spanish now. I don’t know how I will give a talk in English when I get home. Well anyways, that was just a little bit about this week. Oh, and today we went to San Pedro to have a meeting with the president in his house, and then we had dinner with him for being the Zona Celestial. It was really good. I ate so much. Well the Lord has really blessed us this past week. With a whole lot of new investigators. Oh, and tell me if one of these days you are going to put money in the bank, so I can buy a camera here. That is what I want for Christmas. I have already missed out on a lot of pictures I wanted to take. Anyways, thanks for all your letters weekly. Thanks for your prayers and supports. Sounds like everyone is doing great. It just sounds very weird to me that Chris is going to have his kid here pretty soon. Well not Chris but Andrea. So you're working with Jacob Stocking now, huh Chris? What are you guys actually doing? So, Talon is going to work for you huh? What's he up to these days? If you could get his address for me that would be great. And Mom, ask Talon or someone to get Danny's address, so I can write him. I heard this week from Vard Wells that Robby Clyde is going to Mexico on his mission. That is so awesome. I am way excited for him. Well I gotta run... my time is running out. Thanks for everything. You are all the best. Love, Elder Lee
