HAPPY TURKEY DAY!
Dear Fam,
This was another great week in the mission. There was one let down. We were going to baptize a man on Sunday named Polo that was really great. He is about 50 years old, and we have been visiting him for a little over 3 weeks. But this Sunday, we went to go pick him up, and he just opened his door, and yelled, "I am not getting baptized anymore, nor going back to your church", and then slammed the door. We then knocked on his door again, and he opened it, and said he doesn’t even want to receive us anymore. I am thinking his pastor neighbor told him some lies about the Church. That happens a whole ton here. Whenever we start teaching people, pastors start getting involved even though they aren’t even the pastor of the investigator. Satan is always working hard isn’t he? Well, this weekend we had 9 investigators in church, and are preparing a whole lot more to get baptized here pretty soon. We have baptisms planned for the 25th of Nov. and 2nd of December. There is only one bad thing though. I have a change this Wednesday. So I am leaving my beloved Puerto. Puerto Cortes is so awesome. The Bishop here is the best bishop in the world. I wish you could all meet him. He is the humblest man. I am also sad to leave my converts and my investigators. Every time I leave an area it feels like leaving the fam again. And the Elders in this zone!... Wow, I don’t think I will ever have a zone like this one again. My bestest friends that I have in the mission are in this zone. These past couple changes have been awesome. But the Lord wants me somewhere else though. I am excited to see where I am going. It will be pretty interesting. This last Sunday, I gave a 25 minute talk in sacrament meeting about missionary work. I told everyone that before the mission I really didn’t share the gospel with my friends, and it's one of the biggest things I regret. I told them my friends are going to have to watch out cuz I am going to want to baptize every single one of them. I pumped up the ward to get involved in the missionary work. It was really great. I love talking in Spanish now. It's awesome. I could talk in a conference or in a sacrament meeting forever. I love teaching. The lord has really blessed me with the language. At the store the other day, this man asked me if I was from the States, and I told him yes, and he said, "Where did you learn your Spanish?", and I said that I had learned here in Honduras in these last 11 months. He looked at me and said, "I don’t like you. You speak better than me." He´s like, you pronounce your z better than I do. It was pretty funny. I liked the compliment, though I am still learning new stuff every day. The language is great. The people are awesome. And everything is going better than ever. This past year of my life has really been an awesome one. My eyes have opened up, and I just see things a lot more clearly now. Well, the weather is really rainy right now. It got down to like 75 last night. I was so freezing. Anyways, that’s all I got for y'all today. Thanks for everything. I love you all. Send Pictures. Everyone loves pictures. Thanks for everything. Love, Elder Lee P.S.Save me some turkey!!!!!
