HOWDY
Hello to Everyone out there!
Well, this week was amazing. We all went to San Pedro Sula for a
Big Conference. The whole mission went to this Conference. We met in the
biggest church building that there is in San Pedro. It was only the second time
in over three years that the mission has been all together for a Conference.
The last time was last year in March when Elder Richard G. Scott came. So we
had a really huge Conference. At the beginning of the Conference, we started
with some testimonies, and I got to go up and share my testimony, and share
with everyone how our Zone reached our goal in December. I told everyone that
we didn’t do anything. The Lord did it all. I told everyone, we just did our
part to keep the covenant that we made with the Lord at the beginning of the
month, and that the Lord worked the miracles. I said that our goals we make are
more than just numbers. They are covenants we make with the Lord. I bore my
testimony of the power and truth of this work. I love teaching the Gospel.
Especially in Spanish. The words just flow so much better, and the Gospel
sounds so much better! I love Spanish. There is nothing better than
bearing your testimony in Spanish! Anyways, after some testimonies, one of the
Stake Presidents got up and gave a really good talk. He talked about how
anything is possible if we rely on the Lord. Then the APs got up and talked
about miracles. Elder Cornelison, one of the AP´s, and one of my really good
friends in the mission, told me to stand up, and tell everyone what had made
the difference in Colon from a year ago until now. A year ago Colon baptized 3
people in one month, and exactly one year later we baptized 55 in December, and
48 in January. I just simply said, we depended on the Lord, and we didn’t
doubt, and we know, and knew then, it is possible to baptize in whatever area
your in, and whatever zone you are in, anywhere in the world. After the AP´s,
President gave a really inspirational talk. At the end of the Conference, I was
so pumped up. I just wanted to leave and work. But after the Conference, they
announced the changes. I don’t have a change... I will be here in Colon another
one. We received two new District Leaders here, and a couple of new Elders. My
son Elder Carranza that I trained in Puerto Cortez came here to our Zone. He
lives about five minutes from my house. So that was pretty cool. I love working
with new Elders. So after everything was said and done, we got on our bus and
headed back to Colon. It was a nice little 6 hour bus ride. We arrived home at
about 10:00 PM, made some calls, and went to bed. Thursday morning, we got up
and did our weekly planning session. As we were planning, I felt the
inspiration to start making new goals for my mission. And we also made a goal
for here in Colon. We put a goal of 100 baptisms in the month of March. We made
a huge plan of how we are going to do it as a zone. We are going to start with
a huge week of sacrifice. But we aren’t going to call it a week of sacrifice.
We are going to call it, “A week of bringing down miracles from heaven” (sounds
better in Spanish). And this month, we are going to do everything with
exactness. We are going to do a certain amount of lessons with members to find
investigators. We are going to start everything off with a really special
Conference tomorrow to pump up all the Elders. We have a whole bunch of plans
that we need to make and that we have made. We are making a special sign for
every house to put up in their house, and we are going to fast, and have no
fear to ask God for a miracle. We know it's going to take a miracle, but like
it says in the Book of Mormon, "Have miracles ceased? NO!"... of
course they haven’t! And I know for a fact that the Lord has more then 100
souls prepared and waiting for us. We just have to humble ourselves before the
Lord, be obedient, sacrifice ourselves, and rely on the Lord for every action.
I know it's possible. Nothing is impossible. There has never been a zone that
has baptized over 59 in one month. I want to be the example for the mission. So
everyone really can know that it´s possible to baptize thousands like the Lord
wants. I love the mission. It’s the best place in the world. There is no other
place in the whole wide world that I would rather be. Well I have to get
running. My time is running out. Please remember my Zone in your
prayers. Pray for the 100 souls. I love you all. Thanks for everything. Love, Elder
Lee
