THE MISSION
Dear Fam,
Well, it's Tuesday morning right now and I am just writing you a
quick letter because the internet wasn't working yesterday. I don't really have
much time because we have a zone conference at 9:30. This past week was pretty
good. It was kind of crazy because I really didn't work with my companion at
all. On Monday, I went to Trujillo to teach a family that they have out there.
On Tuesday, I stayed in my area with an Elder Jacobs from Utah. My companion
Elder Reyes went to work with one of our district leaders in Olanchito until
Wednesday in the afternoon. On Thursday, I went with Elder Hesson to go get a
birth certificate, about 2 and a half hours away on the beach called Santa Fe,
for a family that is going to get married. On Friday, we had interviews with President
Ochoa. I had a really special interview. President told me the Lord has a lot
of blessings in store for the Colon Zone. He told me the mission isn't always
easy. The Lord will try us. He told me I have to be a vision leader. I have to
help all the Elders have the same vision I have. If I don't do it, then I am
not a good leader. He told me I have to be like the guy driving in a truck down
a road. He told me the whole road won't be paved. Sometimes its going to get
really muddy and slick, and then I will look down and take my focus off the
vision. He told me, just part of the road is like that, we can't see the
beautiful mountains we are going to arrive at. He then said, but when you
arrive, don't be surprised if the Lord tells you to get out of the truck and
start climbing the mountain. He told me to always teach and tell the Elders
what it is the lord has in store for us. And what our potential is. The whole
interview was really awesome. I love my interviews with President Ochoa. Every
one is really spiritual and he always tells me what I need to do to take myself
and others to another level. Anyways, after my interview with President, I went
to interview 2 women and their kid for their baptism. On Saturday, we had a
leadership meeting for the leaders in our zone to talk about everything we
learned in our interviews with President Ochoa, and what we could do better in
the zone. After that, we looked for a new house for an hour, because now we
don't live by the church. They are tearing down the church here in Tocoa, and
they are going to build a whole new building because all the branches here in
Colon are growing, and it will soon be a stake. So they are making a Stake
Center in Tocoa. It will be a beautiful building of two levels. One of the only
ones like it here in Honduras. Right now we are renting a big building that is
really nice, that they use for big parties. They took everything out of the old
church Friday. So we really didn't have anything set up in the other building
for Sunday, and not all the members knew where the rented building is. There
was a different spirit in Church on Sunday. It wasn't as strong. I think just
because everything was a mess in there, and things weren't very organized. Only
about 60 members attended. But the meetings were still very good. They will be
meeting in that building for 1 year. Anyways, I have to get running, the
time is running out. Love you all. Oh and I took out some money to make some
pants and pay for a telephone bill. Thanks for everything. Love you much, Your Missionary Elder Lee
