LOVIN' HONDURAS
Dear Family,
Well, this past week has been a tiring one. On Tuesday night
(Wednesday, 2:00 AM), we went to a change meeting in San
Pedro, and didn't get back until Wednesday night. My companion Elder Reyes left
the area. We had nine changes in the whole zone. They took the Sisters out of
our Zone, so now we have two less missionaries. My new companion is one of the
best things that has happened in my mission. My new companion is Elder Bair
from Idaho. He has been one of my best friends here in the mission. He
came to Honduras one change after I did. He is a big kid. He loves
sports, especially football, and has a great desire to work hard for the Lord.
These last days have been awesome. On Thursday, we had a really big planning
session. We set all kinds of great goals that are going to help us strive to be
better every day. We have set a baptismal goal of 20 this month. We are waking
up every day at 5:30 to read the Book of Mormon. We have a goal to read the
Book of Mormon in 6 weeks. We have some really good studying goals, and other
goals that are going to help us be more spiritual, and some others to get our
muscles going again. I am really excited for this change. We had a baptism this
last weekend. We baptized a 27-year-old man named Miguel Antonio. Right now, we
have 2 families that are ready to get baptized, but we are waiting for their
birth certificates to marry them. Well, this last weekend was kind of sad also.
We didn't get to hear all of General Conference. We only had the opportunity to
listen to the morning session Sunday and that's it. Because we don't have a
church building right now, our satellite was taken out. So in our new building
it was installed but that building was occupied by other people all day
Saturday and all day Sunday after the morning session. So I am going to have to
wait until it comes out in the Ensign to be able to read it. Well, I have to
get going, my time is running out, thank you all so much for the letters. Oh
and P.S. I bought a camera. It was a little expensive. It was 4,300 lempiras.
That is a little over 200 dollars. I also bought some new pants. Well thanks
for all the letters. Oh and guess what, I am also teaching right now a family here
in Tocoa that was a referred by Miguel Lopez. Thanks Miguel. Well, I have to
get going. I love you all. Have a good week.
