SANTA CRUZ LIFE
Dearest
Family Back Home,
I
wish I could tell you all everything that happens throughout the week, because
it seems like when I come into the computer lab, my brain goes out. This past
week was amazing. We have found all kinds of great investigators, and we were
able to bring a lot of them to church. This upcoming Friday, we are going to
marry 2 really special couples, and we will be baptizing the wives of each of
the families...their husbands are members. They have just been inactive for
years. They are really excited though for this new little change in their
lives. Their names are Suyapa y Teodoro, and Martha and Hugo. We will also be
having 3 more baptisms. We will be baptizing a 27-year-old lady named Arasely
and her son Jeffrey. She was the very first person my companion and I contacted
when I got here to Santa Cruz. My first day when I got to Colon, the very first
man I contacted there also got baptized. He is now a Melchizedek Priesthood
holder and has baptized his 2 nephews. Every once in awhile I get
"trunkie" thinking about my last area. I loved the people there so
much and all my investigators. I didn't have much time either to tell them goodbye
and thank them for all the experiences we had together. Anyways, we are also
going to baptize a 15 year-old-girl. Her grandma got baptized here about 4
weeks ago. So this weekend we will have 5 baptisms! The President is really
happy for the success that we are having with the Lord here in Santa Cruz. In
the last 2 and a half years here in this branch, there have been only 30
baptisms, and 22 of them little kids. So President is really happy. Also, the
first week of May, we are praying and working hard, so a family of 4 gets
baptized. Their names are Juana y Leonell and there kids. They are really
great. We are looking also to marry them here in 2 weeks. They went to church
this last Sunday and loved it. We also have another couple that has accepted to
get married and baptized. They are both about 24- years-old. The only thing is
they have problems with the Sabbath being a day of rest. So hopefully we will
be able to help them, so they can dedicate time to God, and a little less to
their work. Please pray for these people so everything will go well, and that
they all will be able to make the special covenant of baptism with our Heavenly
Father. Well, this Friday, the 27th is supposed to be one of the hottest days
that Honduras has ever had. They are telling people not to go outside and
everybody is going to close their business. I hope it is not a problem with the
weddings that we are going to have. My new house here in Santa Cruz is really
nice, but really small. We live in little gated apartments. They are
nice, but like I said, just a little small. We live next-door to a man from
Japan. He is super awesome. He believes in God, but doesn't want to go to
church. He is on a 2-year mission here helping schools function better. He is
also learning Spanish. Almost every night on the porch, my companion and I help
him with his Spanish. He is also learning English. He is really funny. He gave
me a shirt from Japan that is also way awesome. Right now, in this area it is
really hot, and there is a lot of dust. It is great for working! I love getting
back at night and letting the fan hit me with nice cool air. Well I have to go.
I don't have much time because I sent photos. I will try to keep sending more
photos. I love you all. Oh, and thanks for the Easter package. The shirts fit
and look great...WHITE!!! Also the candy was awesome. Very much thank you for
everything. I love you all. Love, Elder Lee
