FROM HONDURAS

Dearest Fam,
Sorry for the guilt trip that I threw on everyone last week with the letters thing. That wasn’t my intention. But it did work! I did receive more letters this week then in a while. Thanks to all. Well here I am still here in San Pedro contacting all the houses in this little area with 4 roads and one gay colony. It is actually really fun, because the second time we contact the same house, we still remember what happened the first time and the same exact thing happens all over again. We still got the faith though that we are going to find more people to baptize in this area. My companion always jokes with me sometimes and tells me we should just go around asking people for their information, so we can baptize them as soon as they die. Lately we have been having some struggles with finding people. Right now we are pretty much looking for little alley ways or for houses that are kind of hidden. And besides that we are re-contacting the houses all over again. My companion and I have a baptismal goal of 10 for this month of September here in the area. Right now we don’t have very many investigators progressing and we don’t know where we are going to find 10 people to baptize here, but we got the faith that it’s going to happen. Yesterday we contacted all day and never even entered one house. As the night was coming to an end we decided to go and contact some people by the gay colony. We finally found a sweet family that received us great. We were kind of worn out from contacting for so long and we were just dying to find a family. When we arrived to the door that we knocked, we heard someone say "The brothers from the Church are here..", and then we heard "Tell them to come in".  I looked at my comp, then him at me, and we smiled and then walked in with a lot of confidence. As we talked with them we found out that the wife of the family is a member of the church, but has been inactive ever since she came here to San Pedro with her husband 7 years ago. Her husband isn’t a member yet, but was really awesome. He received what we taught really well and is way excited to receive us again. They are called the Rios Family. Sometimes you just got to give it all you got for the whole day, and sweat under the sun like crazy, and then the Lord ends up blessing you for your efforts at the end of the day. I know we are going to find 10 people to baptize this month. If it takes the whole day or a whole week just to find one family, we are going to do it. Well the work continues to get better here in Honduras. Everybody is way pumped for the new temple that they are building here. I am also way pumped. I would love to come back here after the mission and go through the temple. Well this upcoming week are changes. I have a lot of mixed feelings right now. I know that this is my last change in the mission, and I don’t really want to go home. I am kind of scared of the States. And I don’t really want to have a change from this area because I love these people to death. I have never had an area like this in my mission. I love the people and they love me. These people here really are my family. I guess that’s what happens when you got an area with 4 roads and 12 avenues. You just get to know the members so well. Well I got to get running. Oh and Dad, the secretary of the mission says that if you call him he can give you information about stuff. His name is Elder Boehner. Tell me what you want to do and I will plan something out. I would kind of like to invite a family out to eat (if you have the money to do so)… They are the Family Lara. Sister Lara is our cook and Brother Lara is the stake president. Also sister Lara´s sister and her kids live with her. Also sister Lara’s brother is the bishop of our ward and is the best bishop of all of Honduras. These two families are the 2 best families of our area. Every Sunday night we all go and eat all you can eat “baleadas” at Sister Lara’s house with some other members of the ward also. Here the ward is just one big family and I love it. I wish the members in the States could have the same love that these people have for each other. Anyways, I have to get running. Thanks again for all your love and letters. Keep them coming. Have a great week. Love Elder Lee
Oh and P.S. Have you heard about the Hurricane Felix that is going to hit Honduras? It’s supposed to be really big. Some of the people here are kind of scared. I really don’t know how big it’s going to be because we can’t watch T.V. I would like to know about it. So maybe someone can tell me real info.  Have a good one!
