TO THE FAM FROM HONDURAS
Dear Family,
How is everyone doing? Thank you all for the letters and for the prayers. I am
doing great here still in La Aurora. This last week was really great with my
new companion E. Flores from El Salvador. He is my first companion that is
taller then me. I was his Zone Leader in Colon, he was one of the two district
leaders when we baptized 55 people in the month of December. After December he
went to a Zone called Merendon and was there for January all the way up to September
12th. And now we are companions. We get along really great and he is a good missionary.
This last week we received two new missionaries in our zone. On Saturday we had
a really special zone conference. For the conference we all dressed up in our
white baptismal clothes. It was a special conference that us leaders in the
zone prepared for everyone. We didn’t even tell any of the Elders that it was
going to be a special zone conference. We just told all the Elders to meet in
our church building at 9:00 on Saturday morning with their baptismal clothes.
The conference was sweet. We read Alma 29 together and then talked about our
possibilities. We then committed every Elder to complete their goal in the zone.
Then we all knelt down together and committed ourselves to the Lord. After that
we shared a special video that a 15 year old member girl in my ward made on her
computer (she knows a whole lot about computers. She was the one that wrote
Kris Knight). It was a video of baptismal photos of us Leaders that we have had
in our mission (3 out of us 4 leaders are ending the mission this change.) We
wanted to show the Elders that it is possible. We wanted to put the idea in the
mind of all the Elders that yes it is possible to baptize in whatever area.
After the video my companion and I and the two DL's shared experiences that we
have had in zones that we have had in the past and miracles that we were able
to see and experience. After that we played a game then we sang a special hymn
number then I gave a training to all the Elders. I love teaching. The lord
always puts the exact words in my mouth to be able to say and teach exactly
what he wants us to learn. Time after time I learn new stuff from myself speaking
His Words when I do trainings with the Elders. The feelings that I feel are so
awesome. Well this Sunday we brought a new family to church. They are called
the Zavala family. We found them contacting. As we were contacting we walked
into the shop of a man who makes pants and on his walls he had pictures of
Jesus Christ from one of our pamphlets that we give out. Under each picture of
Jesus Christ he had a scripture from the Bible. We asked him where he got the
pictures and he told us that he had found the pamphlet and that he really liked
the pictures. We took down his direccion to visit him in his house and we
visited them and they loved everything that we taught and went to church on Sunday.
We are going to help them so that they can progress. Well my time is running
low, we still have to go eat lunch. My
cook is waiting for us. I will try to send some pictures. Have a great week. I
love you all.
Oh and Dad the phone number that I gave you to that Brother here that is a Gringo. Don’t call it for 10 days, because today he left to the states and won’t be coming back for 10 days. He says he knows the best places that are here in San Pedro and the best prices. The 24th it will be best if we stay here in San Pedro and the 25th in Tela, the 26th maybe in Tocoa or in Trujilllo and the 27th here in San Pedro. Everyone here in my area are excited to see you. Well gotta get going, Lots of work to do. Love you all. Have a great week. Elder Lee
